Hyundai's first dedicated green model is now available to test drive.

This year at the Canadian International Autoshow alternative fuel vehicles were everywhere.  Consumers are asking for hybrid and electric cars and the auto industry is paying attention.

Hyundai already offers a hybrid Sonata and have been working on more alternative fuel vehicles for years now.  Finally that work has trickled down to the consumer level and we are thrilled to welcome the new Hyundai Ioniq to the Schlueter Hyundai showroom.

The Ioniq is Hyundai’s first dedicated green vehicle and the world’s first to be offered in three electrified powertrains: The Ionqi Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid and Electric.

Our very first Ioniq arrived yesterday, here’s a peek at it before we even got the protective wrapping off it.

After we cleaned and inspected it, it was time for a quick charge at one of our newly installed charging stations.

This model is the electric Ioniq, meaning it it powered entirely by a state-of-the-art lithium-ion polymer battery system. It has a range of 200km and can be charged at home via a standard 120V outlet.  If you use an available household or public 240V outlet (like these ones we have on the lot) it will fully charge in just over 4 hours.

These vehicles are packed with tons of new and innovative technology. We will be spending the next few days getting to know the Ioniq and we invite you to come by and see it for yourself so we can tell you all about it.
